30 years ago, after having been long-time fans of Tuscany, we rented our first holiday home there. The premises were then, much we have described but there was still, in our opinion, a lot to be desired in the way of equipment and furniture.
At a time when rental rates began to increase disproportionately, we were informed that the estate, by this time practically in a ruinous condition, was up for sale. We decided to buy and the task of rebuilding the Podere La Liberta began. It was important for us during the restoration to take the natural surroundings and typical Tuscan materials into consideration. Our “escape” was born!
The furnishing of the flats was done with an absolute attention to details. It wasn’t a mix of old and discarded furniture, but instead meticulously restored antiques. The kitchens cabinetry is solid wood and bedrooms are arranged according to a central European standard. The other furnishings and accessories for every home were chosen to match to their names.
